Dr. Richard Dest

Dr. Dest is a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Dentistry with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He also received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Dest is an active member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Association.

A Charlotte native, Dr. Dest has practiced in the University area for more than 20 years and is a partner in two other practices, one located in the Wachovia’s CIC complex, also in the University area, and the other in the Gateway Village in downtown Charlotte.

Dr. Dest contributes to his community through his work with Habitat for Humanity, the annual Give Kids a Smile Day, and the National Alopecia Association. He, his wife Rosa, their sons Anthony and Felipe, and daughter Alexandra are active in their church community, and they enjoy traveling both nationally and abroad.

Dr. Mark Halbedl

Dr. Mark Halbedl graduated from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine in 1992. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1989. He maintained a private practice there for 14 years prior to joining Dr. Dest in 2005.

Dr. Halbedl is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Association, D.O.C.S. Oral Sedation, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is a graduate of the Academy of Laser Dentistry of Hoya Con Bio. Dr. Halbedl travels nationally to receive the most advanced dental training in laser dentistry, full-mouth neuromuscular reconstruction, cosmetic dentistry, oral sedation, TMJ treatment and implant dentistry. He is passionate in providing the highest level of dental care.

While using the most advance techniques and technology, Dr. Halbedls’ goal is to make his patients’ experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

Dr. Halbedl also donates his skills and time to a Catholic orphanage in Patzun, Guatemala, and is active in his church. Dr. Halbedl, his wife Heather and their three children Meg, Sarah and Mitch live in Davidson.

Dr. Jon Yura

Dr. Jon Yura joined Drs. Dest and Halbedl in July 2007. A West Virginia native, Dr. Yura received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from West Virginia University in May of 2007. He received his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University where he also played football on a full scholarship.

Dr. Yura is a member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Association. He has also received his certification from the College of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Yura looks forward to implementing a variety of techniques and state-of-the-art technology to serve his patients’ dental needs. He is committed to providing the highest quality of patient care and comfort.

Dr. Yura and his wife, Colleen were actively involved in their church and community in West Virginia. They now look forward to continuing their involvement in this community.
